Position nCipher's executives as thought leaders and strengthen relationships with the media and analyst communities. Increase media coverage to drive sales. Position nCipher as a provider of choice in select vertical markets.

Our Approach

Leverage product, customer and partner news to build an enhanced image for the company; secure industry and product awards, customer case studies and speaking opportunities to raise awareness and provide third party validation. Target key markets via vertical campaigns.

Our Influence

In just its first six months, PerkettPR saved nCipher 60% in cost savings from that of the company's previous PR agency, and quadrupled its media coverage. The team focused on third party validation through press and analyst interviews, customer case studies and product reviews in influential publications such as eWeek, Network Computing and SC Magazine. In addition, PerkettPR constantly presented nCipher executives to reporters as resources for the latest security trends and hot buttons. Reporters and analysts now regularly utilize nCipher for information, helping the company to extend its reach to customers and partners.

Our Results

"According to Richard Moulds, vice-president of marketing for nCipher, the cryptographic tools most widely used by companies today include SSL for securing web communications between organizations, and between organizations and their customers, and VPNs, which secure them between separate groups in the same business, such as an extended corporate internal network."
SC Magazine, October 2002

"According to David Cullinane, CPP, CISSP, a senior consultant in the professional services group at nCipher Inc., a good IT evaluation examines the system as a whole for potential vulnerabilities and shortcomings. Encryption (cryptography) is a primary tool used to protect private business information, and a hardware security module can help safeguard encryption algorithms, enhancing data security."
Security Products, May 2002

"The inspection handles SSL traffic and can be enhanced by optional SSL acceleration cards from nCipher Corp. and Rainbow Technologies to ensure AppShield doesn't become an SSL traffic bottleneck."
Network Computing, April 15, 2002

"The paper, written by Nicko van Someren, CTO of nCipher Corp., a security equipment vendor based in Cambridge, England, includes an analysis of a survey of 137,000 SSL servers done by Netcraft Ltd. The data show that of the more than 84,000 servers in the U.S. that support Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption, 15.1 percent use RSA keys shorter than 900 bits, and 84.3 percent use keys between 900 and 1250 bits."
eWeek, April 8, 2002

"The company provides hardware and software to secure and accelerate the processing of encrypted data, such as SSL and public-key infrastructure. In the past, nCipher provided strictly server peripherals that not only physically protected cryptographic keys, but also sped up the processing of those keys, taking the load off the servers."
Network World, March 28, 2002

"NCipher's security modules, which are used either within Web servers or attached to them, are intended to better protect the keys used to encrypt or decrypt traffic. Vice president of marketing Richard Moulds said that the keys used as the basis for encryption algorithms are often stored on servers, within main memory, where they are not as secure as a dedicated box whose only function is to protect the key."
EE Times, Sept. 24, 2001
